9/11 Remembrance ride set for Saturday

Torii Station is calling all motorcycle riders for a 9/11 Remembrance Motorcycle Ride scheduled Saturday.

The ride, to honor and remember the victims of the Sept 11, 2001, terror attacks, will start at 9 a.m. at the Coral Cove Restaurant. Riders will travel to Nago and back, a trip of about three or four hours, according to an Army release.

The route follows Highway 58 west to Nago and returns on Highway 329 to the Coral Cove Restaurant for lunch.

The remembrance ride is sponsored by the United Service Organizations, Army Air Force Exchange Service, AAFES Car Sales, Coral Cove Restaurant and Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers program.

All motorcyclists are invited to participate; there is no registration fee. Donations will be accepted for the single sailors program.
